Alfred Sackett, merchant mariner, son of Jeremiah Sackett and Dinah Farley, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, in 18421,2 and baptized at St George's Church, RamsgateG, on 29 May 1842.3 He died aged 88 in Newton Abbot, DevonG, on 6 April 19314 and was buried at Teignmouth Cemetery, DevonG.6 He married say 1866, Eliza Crideford.5 She was born in Bishopsteignton, DevonG, about 1846.2 She died aged 70 in Newton AbbotG on 2 January 19167 and was buried at Teignmouth CemeteryG.6

Living with them were their children, Francis, 4, Isabel, 3, Ethel, 2, and Frances, aged one. There was also a 13-year-old female domestic servant in the household.14
