Living with him were his wife Mariah, 40, and their children, Laura, 22, Wilson, 21, Cyntha [Jacintha], 16, Van Buren, 14, and Frances, aged 12.⁶

Theron Sackett, son of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in Dutchess County, New York State^G, on 14 August 1799.^1,2 He died aged 82 in Hanover, Chautauqua County^G, on 12 December 1881¹ and was buried at Balltown Cemetery, Balltown, Chautauqua County, New York State^G.^2,6,7 He married first in New York State^G on 17 December 1825, Jerusha Smith, daughter of Charles Smith and Matilda ___.^1,3 Jerusha was born on 15 May 1804.² She died aged 21 on 14 May 1826 and was buried at Lyon Family Burial Ground, Clinton Corners, Dutchess County, New York State^G.² He married second in Cornwall, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 16 December 1828, Flora Blake, daughter of James Blake and Dorcas Buel.^1,4 Flora was born in Litchfield, Litchfield County^G, on 20 November 1807.^2,8 She died aged 43 on 18 March 1851 and was buried at Balltown Cemetery^G.² He married third before 1855, Catherine Hiller.^1,5 Catherine was born in New York State^G about 1808.⁵
     Theron was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York State^G.⁹ In 1840 he was a householder in Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York State^G.¹⁰
     In 1850 Theron was living in Hanover^G and was recorded in the census as T Sackett, a farmer, aged 50 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Flora, 41, and their children, Norman, 20, Irwin [Irving], 15, Julia, 9, Ann, 5, and Harriet, aged two.¹¹
     In 1860 he was living in Hanover^G and was recorded as Theron Sackett, a farmer, aged 59. Living with him were his wife Catharine, 52, and his children by his previous marriage, Irving, 25, Julia, 19, Ann, 15, and Harriet, aged twelve. Theron's farm, comprising 140 acres of improved land and 40 acres unimproved, was valued at $6,000. Livestock, including two horses, four milch cows, ten other cattle, 26 sheep, and eight swine, was valued at $500. The farm produced 100 bushels of wheat, 50 bushels of Indian corn, 100 bushels of oats, and 112 lbs of wool in the year.^12,13

Maria Sackett, daughter of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in Dutchess County, New York State^G, on 14 February 1803.^1,2,3 She died aged 80 in Clinton Corners, Dutchess County^G, on 18 May 1883 and was buried at Friends Cemetery, Clinton Corners^G.^1,4,5,6 She married Henry Gildersleve.¹ Henry was born in Dutchess County^G on 22 October 1797.^2,3 He died aged 87 on 30 January 1885 and was buried at Friends Cemetery, Clinton Corners^G.^4,7

Living with them were their children, Mary, 20, Thomas, 18, and Julia, aged 14.⁸

Living with them were their children, Mary, 24, and Thomas, 23. There were also a female servant and a male farm laborer in the household.⁹
     In 1865 she was living in Hillsdale^G in the household of her husband Henry, 68, a farmer, and was recorded as Maria Gildersleeve, aged 60. Their son Thomas, 31, was living with them. There was also a female servant in the household.¹⁰
     In 1880 she was living in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York State^G, and was recorded as Maria Gildersleve, aged 77. She was living with her husband Henry, 82, in the household of their daughter Mary and son-in-law Egbert Bedell.¹¹

Cynthia Sackett, daughter of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York State^G, on 9 June 1807.^1,2,3 She died aged 76 in Niagara County, New York State^G, on 21 November 1883 and was buried at West Lake Road Cemetery, Olcott, Niagara County^G.^3,4 She married Dexter Ward, son of Orlando Ward and Phebe Wood.¹ Dexter was born in Rutland, Rutland County, Vermont^G, on 20 October 1804.³ He died aged 66 in Niagara County^G on 26 April 1871 and was buried at West Lake Road Cemetery, Olcott^G.³
     Cynthia was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York State^G.⁵

John Sackett, son of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in New York State^G in 1808.^1,2 He died aged about 86 in Fairmont, Martin County, Minnesota^G, on 14 June 1894 and was buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, Martin County^G.^1,4,5 He married in Goshen, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 16 February 1834, Elizabeth Jane Brown, daughter of Dudley Brown and Ora Daniels.^1,3 Elizabeth was born in Connecticut^G on 16 January 1815.^1,2,4 She died aged 79 in Fairmont^G on 1 June 1894¹ and was buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont^G.⁴
     John was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York State^G.⁶
     In 1850 John was living in Benton, Yates County, New York State^G, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, a farmer, aged 41 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Jane, 36, and their children, George, 16, Cynthia, 14, Dudley, 8, Chauncey, 4, and William, aged one.⁷
     In 1860 he was living in Sciota, Dakota County, Minnesota^G, and was recorded as John Sackett, a farmer, aged 50. Living with him were his wife Jane, 46, and their children, Dudley, 18, Chauncey, 15, and William, aged eleven.⁸
     In 1870 he was living in Northfield, Rice County, Minnesota^G, and was recorded as John Sackett, a hotel keeper, aged 61. Living with him were his wife Jane, 55, and their children, Dudley, 28, and William, 21.⁹
     In 1880 he was living in Northfield^G and was recorded as John Sackett, head of household, aged 72. His wife Jane, 65, was living with him.¹⁰
     John died intestate. His son Dudley P Sackett was appointed administrator of the estate by the Martin County Probate Court on 27 August 1894. Heirs were John's surviving children, Mrs Cynthia E Otis, 58, of Petaluma, Sonoma County, California, Dudley P Sackett, 52, of Fairmont, and William E Sackett, 46, of St Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Appraisers valued John's dwelling house in Fairmont Village at $700 and various other lots at $190. In a final decree dated 17 January 1899 the real estate was assigned to the three heirs.⁵

Julia Sackett, daughter of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in New York State^G about 1812.^1,2 She died aged about 71 on 18 December 1883.¹ She married Edward Latham.¹
     In 1850 Julia was living in Newfane, Niagara County, New York State^G, in the household of her sister Cynthia and brother-in-law Dexter Ward, and was recorded in the census as Julia Latham, aged 38 and born in New York. Her daughter Alice, aged two months, was living with her.³
     In 1860 she was living in Pomfret, Chautauqua County, New York State^G, and was recorded as Julia Latham, aged 45, housekeeper in the household of Erastus Derby. Her daughter Alice, aged nine, was living with her.⁴
     Julia left a will (copy not filed) which was proved at the Mayville, Chautauqua County, Probate Court on 12 May 1884 by her brother Hiram Sackett.⁵

Hiram Sackett, son of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born in New York State^G on 6 December 1810.^1,2 He died aged 90 in Irving, Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York State^G, in March 1901^3,1 and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hanover Center, Chautauqua County, New York State^G.⁴ He married on 6 December 1834, Millicent Smith.¹ Millicent was born in New York State^G in August 1814.⁵ She died aged 86 in Irving, Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York State^G, on 18 February 1901⁶ and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery^G.⁴

     In 1880 Hiram was living in Irving^G and was recorded in the census as Hiram Sacket, a surveyor, head of household, married, aged 65 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Millicent, 63, their son George, 31, and daughter-in-law Catherine, 23, with their children, Nellie, 4, and Howard, aged nine months, and Hiram and Millicent's son Fred, aged 20.¹¹
     In 1900 he was living in Hanover^G and was recorded as Hiram Sackett, aged 89 and born in New York. He was living with his wife Millicent, 83, to whom he had been married for 63 years [actually 65 years], in the household of his son George and daughter-in-law Catherine.¹²

Morgan Sackett, son of Joel Sackett and Elizabeth "Betsey" Husted, was born on 8 September 1814.¹ He married Almira Ward.¹ Almira was born in Vermont^G about 1818.²

     In 1850 he was living in Miami, Hamilton County, Ohio^G, and was recorded as Morgan Sackett, a farmer, aged 36 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Almira, 31, and their children, Leon, 8, Fanny, 4, and William, aged one.⁴
     In 1860 he was living in Wayne, Bartholomew County, Indiana^G, and was recorded as Morgan Sackett, a fruit tree pedlar, aged 47. Living with him were his wife Almira, 42, and their children, Leon, 17, Anna, 14, William, 11, Georgiana, 8, Mary, 4, and Eve, aged one.⁵

Edward Sackett, son of Captain Isaac Sackett and Betsey ___, was born probably in Dutchess County, New York State^G, say 1811.¹ He died in infancy.¹

Minerva Sackett, daughter of Captain Isaac Sackett and Betsey ___, was born in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York State^G, on 11 January 1813.¹ She married in Amenia, Dutchess County^G, on 21 January 1830, Colvill Case.^1,2 Colvill was born about 1805.³
     In 1850 Minerva was living in Chenango, Broome County, New York State^G, in the household of her husband Covil Case, 44, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Minerva Case, aged 37 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Girard, 16, George, 14, Elizabeth, 12, and Sacket, aged seven.⁴
