Lieutenant Abner Sacket, son of Daniel Sacket and Mary Weller, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 11 October 17511,2,3 and baptized at the Second Church of Springfield, West Springfield, Hampden CountyG, on 13 October 1751.4,5 He died aged 56 in WestfieldG on 9 June 1808.6 He married in WestfieldG on 10 October 1771, Rhoda Kellogg, daughter of Samuel Kellogg and Mary Nash, and sister of Sarah Kellogg who married Abner's brother Asher.1,7,8 Rhoda was born in WestfieldG on 23 November 17539 and died aged 44 in WestfieldG on 8 November 1798.10 Abner filed intentions in West SpringfieldG on 1 September 1804 to marry Hannah Dewey.11
Abner served in the American Revolutionary War as a lieutenant in his brother Captain Daniel Sacket's Company (7th Company, Hampshire County (Massachusetts) Regiment.)1
In 1790 Abner was living in Westfield, MassachusettsG. In his household were one man, two boys, and six females.12
172. Lieut. Abner Sacket, 1757–__?, of Westfield, Mass., son of (35) Daniel and Mary Weller Sacket, was married in 1771 to Rhoda Kellogg. He was a soldier of the Revolution, and as shown by Massachusetts State Records, enlisted Apr. 28, 1775, in Capt. Warham Parks' Co. of Col. Timothy Danielson's Regt., and is credited with a term of service lasting 3 months and 10 days in said company. He is also credited with responding to the alarm of Apr. 19, 1775, and serving for eight day previous to his enlistment as above stated, in Westfield Company of Minute Men, commanded by Lieut. John Shepard. Mention is also made of his service for an unstated period as First Lieut. of Capt. Daniel Sacket's Company of the 3d Regiment of Hampshire County Militia.
