James Elmer Sackett, son of Leonard Frank Sackett and Cora Thelma Beggs, was born in Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, on 9 September 1931.1 He died aged 93 in ArizonaG in February 2025.2 He married first in Los Angeles CountyG on 17 August 1951, Joyce Lorraine Hammond, daughter of Walter W Hammond and Ethel C Webb.3 Joyce was born in Los Angeles CountyG on 7 January 1933.5,6 He married second in IowaG in 1981, Karen L (Kindred) Alloway.4 Karen was born about 1938.5

Jim left this earthly life at the age of 93 to be at his eternal Heavenly home with his Loving Savior, Jesus. Jim was the father of Teri Lynn and Michael, Grandchildren Nathan, Emma, Audrey, Shon and Steven, great- grandchildren Odessa, Ezra, Austin, Elle, Olsen, Mikayla and Cora. He became the stepfather to Robbin and Mark, step-grand children Joshua, LaShonna, Megan and Cole, step-great grand children Cory, Emma, Dawson, Hutson and Avery and 1 step-great great grandson Levi. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Cora, and three siblings Elaine, Dale, Robert with one surviving David (Susanna) Sackett. Jim earned a Masters degree later in life while studying many hours before going to a stressful job. Too much was never enough for him. He spent many years working his chosen profession of Life Insurance in California, until he was called to Iowa for an executive position at Farmland Insurance. His career started as a Salesman, Manager then on to be an executive. He was a considerate man, kind and respective to all that he worked with including friends and family. While in Iowa he met and married Karen (Kindred) Alloway they were married 43 years. They enjoyed traveling to many countries and visiting family. In 1998 they began snow birding to Arizona and eventually made Sun City their permanent home. After Jim retired he became very active in Arizona in his church, Bellview Heights, by leading committees, playing for services and events. Also did a lot for Freedom Plaza playing the piano for the residents and teaching those who wanted to learn to play the piano for the first time and forming a Ukulele group. His love of music began at the age of 4 and he continued playing the piano prior to dinner after he needed assistance in daily life until he could not. He will be loved and missed by many friends and family.
