Sarah Sackett, daughter of Jesse Sackett and ___ ___, was born on 23 March 1799.¹ She died aged 66 on 28 November 1865^2,3 and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, Louisiana^G.^5,6 She married in Marcellus, Onondaga County, New York State^G, on 24 October 1824, Horace Blakesley Sr, son of Cooper Blakeslee and Mary Sackett.⁴ Horace was born in North Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut^G, on 17 September 1796¹ and baptized at St John, North Haven^G, on 19 February 1797.^7,8 He died aged 71, drowned during a hurricane in Isla del Padre, Texas^G, on 7 October 1867.⁹

Anna Bush, daughter of Amos Bush and Lydia Sacket, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts^G, about 1801.¹ She died aged 68 in Springfield, Hampden County^G, on 2 May 1869.² She married ___ Smith.

     In 1860 he was living in Leon^G and was recorded as Joel Sacket, a farmer, aged 56. His wife Sally, 59, was living with him.^4,5

     There were two Joel Sackets of about the same age living in New York State in the adjacent Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. Both were born in Massachusetts. The Joel Sacket who was married to Sally V ___ is assumed to have been the son of Joel Sacket who died in Turin, Lewis County, New York. The other Joel Sackett, who was married to Louisa Robbins, is assumed to have been the Joel Sackett born in Sandisfield, Massachusetts, to Solomon Sackett. A definitive record to confirm the assumption has not been found.

Joel Sackett, son of Solomon Sackett and Miriam Davis, was born in Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts^G, on 12 April 1801.^1,2,3 He died aged about 67 in Chautauqua County, New York State^G, in 1868 and was buried at Open Meadows Cemetery, Blockville, Chautauqua County^G.⁵ He married in Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 20 April 1829, Louisa Robbins.⁴ Louisa was born in Connecticut^G in 1802.⁶ She died aged about 85 in Chautauqua County^G in 1887 and was buried at Open Meadows Cemetery, Blockville^G.⁵
     Joel was listed in the census in 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Harmony, Chautauqua County^G.^7,8
     In 1850 Joel was living in Mina, Chautauqua County^G, and was recorded in the census as Joel Sacket, a farmer, aged 49 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Louisa, 48, and their children, Louisa, 16, and Sylvia, aged nine.⁹
     In 1855 he was living in Harmony, Chautauqua County^G, and was recorded as Joel Sackett, head of household, aged 53 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Louisa, 52, and their daughter Sylvia, aged 14.¹⁰
     In 1860 he was living in Harmony^G and was recorded as Joel Sacket, a farm laborer, aged 59. Living with him were his wife Louisa, 57, and their daughters, Julia, 28, and Sylvia, 19. Also in the household was Dwight Sacket, aged one, whose parents are not identified.¹¹
