John Sackett, son of Paul Sackett and Ann (Chambers) Court, was baptized at Buckland-by-Faversham, Kent^G, on 14 May 1671.¹ He died aged about 12 and was buried there on 16 September 1683.²
     John was named as a beneficiary in his mother's will made in Buckland-by-Faversham^G on 27 September 1674.³ He was to inherit one half of his mother's estate.

Jack Mondell Sackett, son of Golden Noble Sackett and Viola Victoria Adam, was born in Los Angeles, California^G, on 18 December 1925. He died aged 65 in Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee^G, on 29 December 1990.¹ He married Barbara Ann Davis. Barbara was born in Maryville^G on 24 December 1918.¹ She died there aged 80 on 25 February 1999.¹

     In 1880 Mark was living at Hester Street, New York City^G, in the household of his parents Moses and Leah, and was recorded in the census as Marx Shachett, at school, aged ten and born in Poland.²

Moses Shakett/Sackett was born in Poland^G about 1832.¹ He died in Cook County, Illinois^G, on 30 January 1897 and was buried at the Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois^G.³ He married in Poland^G about 1860, Lena Bowman.² Lena was born in Poland^G about 1837.¹ Moses and Lena divorced in 1889.
     In 1880 Moses was living at Hester Street, New York City^G, and was recorded in the census as Moses Shachett, a tailor, aged 48 and born in Poland. Living with him were his wife Leah, 43, and their children, Polly, 18, Marx, 10, Joseph, 5, Sarah, 8, Rebecca, 3, Benjamin, 2, and John, aged four months.⁴
     Moses and Lena moved to Dallas, Texas, in the early 1880s but separated some time before 1888, by when Moses had moved to Chicago. Lena remained in Dallas and established a dry goods retail business to support herself and her children.⁵
     Moses became a naturalized US citizen on 27 September 1888.⁶

Joseph Shakett/Sackett, son of Moses Shakett/Sackett and Lena Bowman, was born in Poland^G about 1875.¹
     In 1880 Joseph was living at Hester Street, New York City^G, in the household of his parents Moses and Leah, and was recorded in the census as Joseph Shachett, aged five and born in Poland.²
     Joseph was listed in the Dallas, Texas, City Directory in 1888. He was living with his mother Lena and working as a cash boy for Sanger Brothers.³

Rebecca Shakett/Sackett, daughter of Moses Shakett/Sackett and Lena Bowman, was born in Whitechapel, London, England^G, on 2 May 1877.^1,2,3 She died aged 70 at the Memorial Hospital, Houston, Harris County, Texas^G, on 25 September 1947⁴ and was buried at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, Houston^G.⁷ She married in Waco, McLennan County, Texas^G, on 17 March 1907, William Cohen.^5,6 William was born in Rogowo, Poland^G, on 6 June 1881, and immigrated to the United States in 1890.⁸
     In 1880 she was living at Hester Street, New York City^G, in the household of her parents Moses and Leah, and was recorded as Rebecca Shachett, aged three and born in England.⁹
     In 1900 she was living at North Fourth Street, Waco, McLennan County, Texas^G, and was recorded as Rebecka Sackett, a dry goods saleswoman aged 23 and single. She was a boarder in the household of Julia Hyman.¹⁰
     In 1910 she was living at San Antonio Street, San Marcos, Hays County, Texas^G, in the household of her husband William, 32, a retail merchant, and was recorded as Rebecca Cohen, aged 35. Her nephew Maurice Sackett, aged twelve, was living with them.¹¹

Benjamin Shakett/Sackett, son of Moses Shakett/Sackett and Lena Bowman, was born in Whitechapel, London, England^G, in 1879.¹ He died in Houston, Harris County, Texas^G, on 23 May 1954.
