Cecil Howie Robertson, son of John Adam Robertson and Ada Eliza Sackett, was born in Hackney, LondonG, on 17 July 1892.1 He was baptized at St Jude's Church, Grays Inn Road, LondonG, on 10 February 1897.2 He served as a private soldier in the First World War in the 11th Battalion, Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). He was killed in action, aged 23, in northern France on 8 June 1916.3,4 Administration of his estate, which was valued at £92, was granted to Catherine Ann Gordon, a spinster.3
Cecil was admitted, aged six, to the Manchester Street School, Camden, LondonG, on 29 October 1898, having previously attended the Ainwell Street School. The family was then living at 45 Swinton Street.5
