William Morgan, mason, of Glamorgan, son of John Morgan and Mary Davies, was born in Llannon, CarmarthenshireG, about 1840.1,2 He died aged 50 in Ystradyfodwg, GlamorganG, in 1891.3 He married in Pontypridd, GlamorganG, in 1870, Elizabeth Davies, daughter of Benjamin Davies and Margaret ___.4,5
     In 1841 William was living at Llwyncwtta, Llannon, CarmarthenshireG, in the household of his parents John and Mary, and was recorded in the census as William Morgan, aged one and born in Carmarthenshire.6
     In 1851 he was living at Blayneifsa, LlannonG, in the household of his parents John and Mary, and was recorded as William Morgan, aged ten and born in Llannon.7
     In 1861 he was living at Blyneifsco, Blyne, Llannon, CarmarthenshireG, in the household of his parents John and Mary, and was recorded as William Morgan, a mason, unmarried, aged 20 and born in Llandybie.8 [error for Llannon]
     In 1871 he was living at 4 Lloyd's Row, Ystradyfodwg, GlamorganG, and was recorded as William Morgans, a mason, head of household, married, aged 26 and born in Llannon. Living with him was his wife Elizabeth, 22.9
     In 1881 he was living at Patridge Road Hut, Ystradyfodwg, GlamorganG, and was recorded as William Morgan, a mason, head of household, married, aged 40 and born in Llannon. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 32, and their children, Mary, aged eight, and Sarah, aged eight months.10
     In 1891 he was living at 10 Chapel Street, Clydach, Ystradyfodwg, GlamorganG, and was recorded as William Morgan, a mason, head of household, married, aged 50 and born in Llannon. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 42, and their children, Mary, 18, Sarah, 10, Lilly, 5, and Dannie, aged one. There were also two male boarders in the household.11
