Albert Sumner Atkins, son of Luther Atkins and Jerusha Sacket, was born on 9 August 1827.1 He died aged 69 on 7 December 18962 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG.3 He married Sarah Ann Robinson. Sarah was born in Holyoke, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 16 February 1831.3 She died aged 80 in Springfield, Hampden CountyG, on 1 December 1911 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.3
     In 1850 Albert was living in Southampton, Hampshire CountyG, in the household of his parents Luther and Jerusha, and was recorded in the census as Albert Atkins, a farmer, aged 23 and born in Massachusetts.4
