Norman B Sackett, son of Captain Norman Sackett and Esther Waterman, was born in Columbia County, New York StateG, on 2 October 1831.1 He died aged 80 in Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, on 19 October 1911.2 He married on 17 February 1855, Olive Vine Ambler.1
     In 1850 Norman was living in New Lebanon, Columbia County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Norman and Esther, and was recorded in the census as Norman B Sackett, aged 18 and born in New York.3
     In 1880 he was living in Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Norman Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 46 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Olive, 47, and their children, Martha, 12, Esther, 10, and Willie, aged five. There was also a male farm laborer in the household.4
