Leslie Sackett, a radio officer in the merchant navy, son of Alfred James Sackett and Lydia Hatfield, was born at Les Banques, St Sampson's, GuernseyG, on 23 June 1905.1 He died aged 73 in GuernseyG on 2 November 1978. He married on 17 October 1934, Dulcie Lillie Keyho, a cousin, daughter of Thomas John Keyho and Laura Sackett.
     In 1911 Leslie was living at Ollivier Street, St Anne's, AlderneyG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Lydia, and was recorded in the census as Leslie Sackett, aged five and born in St Sampson's.2
     Leslie was employed as a certified wireless operator by the Britich Post Office in May 1931.3 He joined the uniformed staff of the Great Western Railway on 8 November 1937 (this would have been as a radio officer on GWR ships.)4

Douglas Sackett, meteorologist, son of Alfred James Sackett and Lydia Hatfield, was born at Les Banques, St Sampson's, GuernseyG, on 18 May 1907.1 He died aged 68 in GuernseyG on 1 January 1976. He married on 21 December 1939, Mary Emma "Marie" Sutton, daughter of Wilsie John Sutton and Elizabeth Hannah Jones.
     In 1911 Douglas was living at Ollivier Street, St Anne's, AlderneyG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Lydia, and was recorded in the census as Douglas Sackett, aged three and born in St Sampson's.2
     In 1921 he was living at 13 Havilland Street, St Peter Port, GuernseyG, in the household of his sister Alma and brother-in-law Vere Miles, and was recorded as Douglas Sackett, aged 14.3
