Robert Sackett, postmaster, gardener, and agricultural labourer, son of James Sackett and Ann Argent Lee, was born in Dagenham, EssexG, on 5 July 1847.1,2 He died there aged 673 and was buried at St Peter & St Paul Church, DagenhamG, on 20 February 1915.4 He married in St Peter & St Paul Church, DagenhamG, on 4 March 1867, Mary Ann Lazell, daughter of William Lazell and Harriet Rogers.5,6,7 Mary was born in Upminster, EssexG, on 30 June 18458,9 and died aged 71 in RomfordG in 1917.10
     In 1851 Robert was living at Bull Street, Dagenham, EssexG, in the household of his parents James and Ann, and was recorded in the census as Robert Sackett, aged three, and born in Dagenham.11
     In 1861 he was living at the Post Office, DagenhamG, in the household of his parents James and Ann, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, a scholar, aged 13 and born in Dagenham.12
     In 1871 he was living at the Post Office, 6 Bull Street, DagenhamG, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, postmaster and gardener, head of household, married, aged 25 and born in Dagenham. Living with him were his wife Mary Ann, 26, and their children, James, 4, and Ann, aged two. Also in the household was a male boarder.13
     In 1881 he was living at the Bull Inn, Bull Street, Dagenham, EssexG, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, an agricultural labourer, head of household, married, aged 33, and born in Dagenham. Living with him were his wife Mary, aged 35, and born in Upminster, and their children, James, 13, Annie, 12, Henry, 9, Robert, 5, Mary, 3, and Jane, aged one.14
     In 1891 he was living at Bull Street, DagenhamG, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, a farm labourer, head of household, married, aged 43 and born in Dagenham. Living with him were his wife Mary, 45, and children, Henry, 19, Mary, 13, and William, aged eight.15
     In 1901 he was living at Bull Street, DagenhamG, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, a general labourer, head of household, married, aged 53, and born in Dagenham. Living with him were his wife Mary, aged 55, and their 17-year-old son William.16
     In 1911 he was living at Bull Street, Dagenham, EssexG, and was recorded as Robert Sackett, a gardener, head of household, aged 63 and born in Dagenham. Living with him was his wife Mary Ann, aged 65.17
