Anne Elizabeth "Annie" Sackett, daughter of Robert Sackett and Mary Ann Lazell, was born in Dagenham, Essex, EnglandG, on 17 March 1869.1,2,3 She died aged 76 in Dryden, Kenora District, Ontario, CanadaG, on 20 March 19454 and was buried in Dryden CemeteryG on 22 March 1945.4 She married first at Wesleyan Chapel, Romford, EssexG, on 28 March 1887, John Henry Thomas, son of Benjamin Thomas and Philadelphia ___.5,6,7 He was born in Brede, Sussex, EnglandG, on 2 March 18572,8 and died aged 55 in Dryden, Ontario, CanadaG, on 28 September 1912.8 He died accidentally when he was hit by a train engine during a switching operation.3 She married second at St Paul's Church, Fort William, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, CanadaG, on 11 August 1913, Alfred Jeremiah "Dan" O'Leary, a stationary engineer, son of Patrick O'Leary and Ellen Hayes.3,9
     In 1871 Anne was living at the Post Office, 6 Bull Street, DagenhamG, in the household of her parents Robert and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Ann Elizabeth Sackett, aged two and born in Dagenham.10
     In 1881 she was living at the Bull Inn, Bull Street, Dagenham, EssexG, in the household of her parents Robert and Mary, and was recorded as Annie E. Sackett, a scholar, aged 12, and born in Dagenham.11
     In 1891 she was living at 40 Lower Cottages, Creeksworth?, Barking, EssexG, in the household of her husband John H Thomas, 32, a general labourer, and was recorded as Annie E Thomas, aged 22 and born in Dagenham. Living with them were their children, Herbert, 3, Wilfred, 1, and Philadelphia, aged three months. Also in the household was Annie's brother Robert Sackett, 16.12
     In 1901 she was living at Grosvenor Terrace, DagenhamG, in the household of her husband John, 44, a coal porter, and was recorded as Annie E Thomas, aged 32 and born in Dagenham. Living with them were their children, Herbert, 13, Wilfred, 11, Louisa, 7, Hilda, 5, John, 4, and George, aged one. Also in the household was a female nurse.13
     John and Annie emigrated to CanadaG in 1905 with their eight children.2,14
     In 1911 Anne was living in Zealand Township, OntarioG, in the household of her husband John, 53, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Annie E Thomas, aged 43 and born in England. Living with them were their children, Wilfred, 22, Hilda, 17, John, 16, Lucy, 13, George, 11, and Ruth, aged nine. Also in the household was Harold Wilkinson, 25, who was to marry Hilda two years later.15
