BirthNovember 1889, MassachusettsG,1
Death10 September 1964, New Haven, ConnecticutG

In 1900 Bertha was living at Ashman Street, New Haven, ConnecticutG, in the household of her mother Mary and stepfather Edwin Balbier, and was recorded in the census as Bertha Sackett. She was aged ten years but, as a result of an enumeration error, was recorded as aged one month.4
In 1910 she was living at Ashman Street, New HavenG, in the household of her mother Mary and stepfather Edwin Balbier, and was recorded as Bertha Balbier, a stenographer at an oil refining company, aged 20.5
In 1910 Bertha and her sister Gertrude were the subjects of a public search, having been identified as heirs to the estate of their aunt Ellen Shattuck who had died the previous year. They had presumably been identified in the name Sackett by family members unaware of their name change to Balbier.
In 1930 she was living in New HavenG in the household of her widowed stepfather Edwin Balbier, and was recorded as Bertha Balbier, single, aged 35.6

Searching for Sackett Girls.
Atty. Harold P. Moseley is trying to locate Bertha and Gertrude Sackett daughters of Seymour A. Sackett, sometimes known as S. Arthur Sackett, who lived in Westfield more than 30 years ago. The two women are heirs to the estate left by Mrs. Ellen Shattuck, who died a short time ago. When last located they lived in Hartford, Conn., but are believed to have married and left that section, as no information concerning them has been secured.
