Alfred Henry Hooper, son of John Hender Hooper and Emily Mercy Lawrence, was born in 1911.¹ He died in 1988.¹ He married first in 1934, Naomi Byrne.¹ He married second in 1955, Florence Mercy Feavearyear, his first cousin, daughter of George Noah Feavearyear and Florence Mabel Lawrence.¹
     Alfred and Florence lived in Sydney for five years following their marriage, then moved to Tasmania.¹
     Alfred won a number of trophies for his tenor horn playing. He later played the French horn in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Australia and the Covent Garden and BBC Orchestras in London.¹

Winifred Gladys Hooper, daughter of John Hender Hooper and Emily Mercy Lawrence, was born in 1907.¹ She died in 1996.¹
     Winifred was the homemaker of the family, helping her mother initially, and then caring for both parents in their declining years. She was a keen and knowledgeable gardener. She was unmarried.¹

George Lawrence Hooper, son of John Hender Hooper and Emily Mercy Lawrence, was born in 1901.¹ He died in 1980.¹
     As a child, George studied the organ in England and was associated with religious music all his life. He was a church organist, pianist, brass instrument player, and conductor. He worked for the Salvation Army for most of his adult life. He was a keen gardener and handyman. He was unmarried.¹

     In 1880 Henry was living in Washington, Dutchess County^G, and was recorded in the census as Henry H Valentine, aged eleven and born in New York. He was living with his mother Samantha in the household of Samantha's parents Artemus and Laura.²

Amy Valentine, daughter of Benjamin Valentine and Samantha K Sackett, was born in New York State^G about 1874.¹
     In 1880 she was living at Washington, Dutchess County^G, and was recorded as Amy Valentine, aged six and born in New York. She was living with her mother Samantha in the household of Samantha's parents Artemus and Laura.²
