Elton Spencer "Red" Sackett, son of Elihu Elton Sackett and Amy Floretta Maine, was born in Winnebago, Faribault County, MinnesotaG, on 11 November 1918.1 He died aged 84 in Waunakee, Dane County, WisconsinG, on 22 June 20032,3 and was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, Madison, Dane County, WisconsinG.6 He married first in Davidson County, TennesseeG, on 11 December 1942, Laura Johanna Schlicht, daughter of Frederick L Schlicht and Irene A Mundstock.4 Laura was born in Hamburg, Vernon County, WisconsinG, on 24 February 19147 and died aged 90 in La Crosse, WisconsinG, on 4 September 2004.8 Elton and Laura divorced in La CrosseG on 5 December 1977.9 Elton married second in Dane County, WisconsinG, on 10 June 1978, Edna A (Peltz) Merrill, daughter of Gottlieb Peltz.5 Edna was born in New Leipzig, North DakotaG, on 22 April 1923.10,1 She died aged 88 in WisconsinG on 15 May 201111,12 and was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, MadisonG.6
     In 1920 Elton was living at Main Street, WinnebagoG, in the household of his parents Elihu and Amy, and was recorded in the census as Elton Sackett, aged one and born in Minnesota.13
     Elton completed a World War II draft registration card on 16 October 1940. He was aged 21 and was living in Winnebago, MinnesotaG.14 He served in the US Army from 25 October 1940 to 12 October 1945.15,16

     Paul was a Colonel in the US 6th Marine Division during the Second World War. He was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed by the Japanese, and fought in the Battle of Okinawa.
