Maude Elizabeth Conklin, daughter of Oscar Orrin Conklin and Ella Sackett, was born in Minnesota^G on 17 December 1892.¹ She died aged 49 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota^G, on 25 March 1942¹ and was buried at Nashville Cemetery, Truman, Martin County, Minnesota^G. She married on 26 November 1912, Frank Hammond Pettit.¹ Frank was born in Sabetha, Brown County, Kansas^G, on 18 May 1890¹ and died aged 64 in Minneapolis^G on 4 November 1954.¹ They were divorced in the late 1930s.¹
     In 1900 Maude was living in Prescott, Faribault County, Minnesota^G, in the household of her parents Oscar and Ella, and was recorded in the census as Maudie Conklin, aged seven and born in Minnesota.²
     In 1910 she was living at Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana^G, in the household of her parents Oscar and Ella, and was recorded as Maud E Conklin, aged 17.³
     In 1920 she was living at 39th Avenue, Minneapolis^G, in the household of her husband Frank, 29, a machinist, and was recorded as Maud E Pettit, an embroiderer at a stencil company, aged 27. Living with them were their daughter Melva, aged one, and Maude's widowed mother Ella
