In 1900 Gertrude was living at Ashman Street, New Haven, ConnecticutG, in the household of her mother Mary and stepfather Edwin Balbier, and was recorded in the census as Gertrude Sackett. She was aged twelve years but, as a result of an enumeration error, was recorded as aged one year.10

City News in Brief.
Chief-of-Pollce William F. Gunn has received a letter from Harold P. Moseley of Westfield, Mass., inquiring as to the whereabouts of Bertha and Gertrude Sackett, children of Seymour A. Sackett, formerly of Westfield and sometimes known as S. Arthur Sackett, who are supposed to be living in this city. Chief Gunn is having the matter investigated.

Hartford Courant, Hartford, Connecticut, 3 Mar 1910, p 16

Searching for Sackett Girls.
Atty. Harold P. Moseley is trying to locate Bertha and Gertrude Sackett daughters of Seymour A. Sackett, sometimes known as S. Arthur Sackett, who lived in Westfield more than 30 years ago. The two women are heirs to the estate left by Mrs. Ellen Shattuck, who died a short time ago. When last located they lived in Hartford, Conn., but are believed to have married and left that section, as no information concerning them has been secured.

Hampden County Leader, Westfield, Massachusetts, 11 Mar 1910, p 8
