Lucius Sackett, son of Lewis Sackett and Lucina ___, was born in ConnecticutG about 1816.1 He died aged about 68 in New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 18 July 18842 and was buried at Pine Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven CountyG.4 He married in ConnecticutG on 1 September 1842, Emily C Sherman.3 Emily was born in ConnecticutG about 1822.1 She died aged 87 in New Haven CountyG on 30 May 1906 and was buried at Pine Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven CountyG.5
     In 1850 Lucius was living in Oxford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded in the census as Lucius Sacket, a farmer, aged 29 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Emily, 27, and their son Wales, aged seven.6
     Lucius served in the American Civil War, enlisting in the Twentieth Regiment Connecticut Volunteers on 18 August 1862. He was captured at Chancellorsville, Virginia, on 3 May 1863 but paroled twelve days later. He transferred to the 75th Company 2nd Battalion Veteran Reserve Corps on 14 October 1863 and was discharged on 30 October 1863. He was registered for an invalidity pension in March 1864. His widow Emily claimed a pension from April 1885.7,8
     In 1870 he was living in Oxford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Lucius Sackett, a farmer and collier, aged 54 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Emily, 48, and their children, Charles, 13, and Emma, aged nine.9
     In 1880 he was living at Beacon Falls, New Haven CountyG, and was recorded as Lucius Sackett, a farmer, aged 59. Living with him were his wife Emily, 59, and their children, Wales, 36, Charles, 23, and Emma, 19.10

Wales F Sackett, son of Lucius Sackett and Emily C Sherman, was born in ConnecticutG on 2 September 1843.1,2 He died aged 75 in New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 31 December 1918 and was buried at Pine Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven CountyG.2 He married Sarah J Burnham. Sarah was born on 7 June 1839 and died aged 72 in New Haven CountyG on 14 January 1912 and was buried at Pine Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven County, ConnecticutG.3

He died aged 54 in New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 14 February 1852 and was buried at Pine Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven CountyG.3,4 He married Lucina ___. Lucina was born in ConnecticutG about 1795.1 She died aged 59 in New Haven CountyG on 30 June 1855 and was buried at Pine Bridge CemeteryG.5,6
     Lewis was listed in the census in 1820, 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Oxford, New Haven CountyG.7,8,9
     In 1850 Lewis was living in Oxford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded in the census as Lewis Sacket, a farmer, aged 52 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Lucinda, 55. Also in the household was Louisa Sacket, aged 13, perhaps a granddaughter.10

  2. There is doubt about Lucina's date of birth. The inscription on her gravestone gives her age as 69 at death in 1855, suggesting she was born in 1785 0r 1786. Her stated age, 55, in the 1850 census, suggested she was born in 1794 or 1795.

Louisa Sackett was born in ConnecticutG about 1837.1 Her parents may have been Lewis Sackett and Lucina, although it would seem more likely that these were her grandparents.
     In 1850 she was living at Oxford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, in the household of Lewis and Lucina Sacket, possibly her grandparents, and was recorded as Louisa Sacket, aged 13 and born in Connecticut.2
