Richard Mockett, son of Richard Mockett and Sara Sackett, was born in Birchington, KentG, on 14 November 16231 and baptized at Birchington ChurchG on 14 March 1623/24.2 He died aged 69 and was buried at St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 26 November 1692.4,5 He married at St Peter in ThanetG on 17 December 1657, Sarah Sampson, daughter of Nicholas Sampson and Ann ___.3 Sarah was born about 1632.6 She died aged 91 on 10 February 1723/24 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG.5
     Richard was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at St Nicholas at WadeG on 30 December 1626. He was left a sum of £10 at 21.

Archibald Fairfowl, printer's manager, son of Archibald Fairfowl and Grace Gordon Murray, was born in Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, on 2 September 18271,2 and baptized at St Cuthbert's Church, EdinburghG.2 He died before 1903. He married first at St Cuthbert's Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, on 25 June 1851, Janet Keir, daughter of John Keir and Ann Garvie.3 He married second at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, on 28 July 1870, Catherine Elder.4
     In 1841 Archibald was living at 48 West Richmond Street, St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in the household of his father Archibald, and was recorded in the census as Archibald Fairfowl, aged ten+ and born in Midlothian.5
     In 1851 he was living at 50 North Richmond Street, St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, ScotlandG, in the household of his father Archibald, and was recorded as Archld Fairfowl, printer, aged 23 and born in Edinburgh.6
     In 1861 Archibald was living at 14 Canning Place, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded in the census as Archibald Fairfowl, stereotype printer, head of household, aged 33 and born in St Cuthberts, Edinburgh. Living with him were his wife Janet, 35, and their children, Ann G, 8, Janet K, 4, and John K, aged one. There was also a female domestic servant in the household. Archibald and Janet's other son, Archibald, aged 7, was visiting Janet's parents in Kinglassie at the census date (7/8 April.)7
     In 1871 he was living at 3 Summerhall Place, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded as Archibald Fairfowl, stereotype printer, head of household, aged 43 and born in Newington, Edinburgh. Living with him were his second wife Kair [Catherine], 33, and Archibald's eleven-year-old son John by his first marriage.8
     In 1881 he was living at West Preston Street, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded as Arch Fairfowl, printers manager, head of household, aged 54 and born in Edinburgh. Living with him were his wife Catherine, 42, and their children, Fred, 9, Maggie, 7, Jemima, 5, and Kate, aged three.9
     In 1891 he was living at 10 West Preston Street, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded as Archibald Fairfowl, an electrotyper, head of household, aged 62 and born in Edinburgh. Living with him were his wife Catherine, 52, and their children, Frederick, 19, Maggie, 17, Jemima, 15, and Kate, aged 13.10

     In 1841 Archibald was living at 48 West Richmond Street, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded in the census as Archibald Fairfowl, a cabinet maker, aged 45+ and born in Scotland. Living with him were his children, Michell, 20+, Archibald, 10+, Grace, 15+, and Christian, 15+.4
