Samuel Smith Sackett, son of Martin Sackett and Elizabeth Fletcher, was baptized at South Ockenden, EssexG, on 17 May 1789.1 He died aged 402 and was buried at Bunhill Fields, LondonG, on 28 December 1829.2 He married at St Dunstan's Church, Stepney, MiddlesexG, on 23 May 1814, Mary Ann Wood, daughter of William Wood and Jane Billing.3,4 Mary was born in St Luke, MiddlesexG, on 13 September 1795.5 She died aged about 58 in ShoreditchG in 1854.6
     In 1841 Samuel's widow was living at Monyers? Street, St Leonard, Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, in the household of William Bird, an engineer, and his family, and was recorded in the census as Mary Sackett, 45+, a dressmaker, born in Middlesex. Living with her was her son John Richard.7

John Richard Sackett, son of Samuel Smith Sackett and Mary Ann Wood, was born in Bethnal Green, MiddlesexG, on 26 November 18221 and baptized at St Dunstan & All Saints Church, StepneyG, on 13 April 1823.2 He died aged 82 at Holms Street, Hackney Road, Shoreditch, LondonG, on 21 September 1905.3,4 He married at St John the Baptist, ShoreditchG, on 16 April 1843, Catherine Hewitt.5,6 She was born in Marylebone, MiddlesexG, about 1822.1 She died aged 74 in Shoreditch, LondonG, in 1896.7

The other members of his household were his wife Catherine, a bookfolder, aged 39 and born in Marylebone, and his children, Kate, 17, Clara, 14, Walter, 12, William, 10, Warwick, 8, Rose Juliet, 5, Florence, 3, and eleven-month-old Rowland.10
     In 1871 he was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St LeonardsG, and was recorded as John Sackett, a boot manufacturer, head of household, aged 48 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Catherine (incorrectly listed as Caroline), 49, their children Clara, 24, Warner, 18, Rose, 16, Florence, 14, Rowland, 10, and Alice, 9, their son-in-law Edward Hillem, 31, and their grandchildren Edward W Hillem, 3, and Kate C Hillem, aged one.11
     John was listed on the electoral register from 1859 to 1880 living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower HamletsG.12 From 1882 he was listed on the register living at 21 Holms Street, Haggerston, HackneyG.13
     In 1881 he was living at 21 & 23 Holms Street, LondonG, and was recorded as John Sackett, a shoe maker, head of household, married, aged 58 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Kate, 59, and their unmarried children, Rosa, 26, Florence, 24, Roland, 20, and Alice, aged 19.14
     In 1891 he was living at 21 Holms St, ShoreditchG, and was recorded as John Sackett, a shoe manufacturer (an employer), head of household, married, aged 67, and born in London. Living with him were his wife Catherine, aged 67, and born in London, and their unmarried children, Rose, 36, Florence, 34, and Roland, aged 30.15
     John was appointed administrator of the estate of his daughter Rose Juliet Sackett by letters of administration granted in London on 23 May 1894. Her estate was valued at £101.16
     In 1901 he was living at 21 Holmes Street, St Leonard's, Shoreditch, LondonG, and was recorded as John R Sackett, self-employed boot manufacturer, working at home, head of household, married, aged 78 and born at Mile End, London. Living with him were his son Roland, 40, daughter-in-law Rebecca, 32, and grandson Algernon, aged three months.17
     John left a will which was proved in LondonG on 20 October 1905 by his sons Walter and Roland. His estate was valued at £1,111.18

Walter John Samuel Sackett, shoe maker, of Hackney, London, son of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, on 10 July 18491,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, on 30 September 1849.2 He died aged 74 in HackneyG in 1924.3 He married at St John's Church, ShoreditchG, on 17 December 1870, Rebecca Janet Hawkins.4,5 She was born about 18506 and died aged 86 in HackneyG in 1936.7
     In 1851 Walter was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, LondonG, and was recorded in the census as Walter Sackett, aged one, born in Shoreditch, the son of John Sackett.8

     Walter and his brother Roland proved their father John's will in LondonG on 20 October 1905. His estate was valued at £1,111.14
     In 1911 he was living at 21 Norfolk Road, Dalston, Hackney, LondonG, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, a boot cutter, head of household, aged 61 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Rebecca, 61, and their married daughter Emily, 37.15
