Samuel Smith Sackett, son of Martin Sackett and Elizabeth Fletcher, was baptized at South Ockenden, Essex^G, on 17 May 1789.¹ He died aged 40² and was buried at Bunhill Fields, London^G, on 28 December 1829.² He married at St Dunstan's Church, Stepney, Middlesex^G, on 23 May 1814, Mary Ann Wood, daughter of William Wood and Jane Billing.^3,4 Mary was born in St Luke, Middlesex^G, on 13 September 1795.⁵ She died aged about 58 in Shoreditch^G in 1854.⁶
     In 1841 Samuel's widow was living at Monyers? Street, St Leonard, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of William Bird, an engineer, and his family, and was recorded in the census as Mary Sackett, 45+, a dressmaker, born in Middlesex. Living with her was her son John Richard.⁷

Thomas Samuel Sackett, son of Samuel Smith Sackett and Mary Ann Wood, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 28 October 1825¹ and baptized at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch^G, on 5 November 1826.¹ He died in infancy in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, and was buried at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch^G, on 14 June 1827.²

Robert Turner Sackett, son of Samuel Smith Sackett and Mary Ann Wood, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in 1827 and baptized at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch^G, on 11 February 1827.¹ He died in infancy in Shoreditch^G,2 and was buried at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch^G, on 17 April 1829.²

     In 1861 he was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as John Richard Sackett, head of household, a "clicker", aged 38 and born in Bethnal Green. The other members of his household were his wife Catherine, a bookfolder, aged 39 and born in Marylebone, and his children, Kate, 17, Clara, 14, Walter, 12, William, 10, Warwick, 8, Rose Juliet, 5, Florence, 3, and eleven-month-old Rowland.¹⁰
     In 1871 he was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St Leonards^G, and was recorded as John Sackett, a boot manufacturer, head of household, aged 48 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Catherine (incorrectly listed as Caroline), 49, their children Clara, 24, Warner, 18, Rose, 16, Florence, 14, Rowland, 10, and Alice, 9, their son-in-law Edward Hillem, 31, and their grandchildren Edward W Hillem, 3, and Kate C Hillem, aged one.¹¹
     John was listed on the electoral register from 1859 to 1880 living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets^G.¹² From 1882 he was listed on the register living at 21 Holms Street, Haggerston, Hackney^G.¹³
     In 1881 he was living at 21 & 23 Holms Street, London^G, and was recorded as John Sackett, a shoe maker, head of household, married, aged 58 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Kate, 59, and their unmarried children, Rosa, 26, Florence, 24, Roland, 20, and Alice, aged 19.¹⁴
     In 1891 he was living at 21 Holms St, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as John Sackett, a shoe manufacturer (an employer), head of household, married, aged 67, and born in London. Living with him were his wife Catherine, aged 67, and born in London, and their unmarried children, Rose, 36, Florence, 34, and Roland, aged 30.¹⁵
     John was appointed administrator of the estate of his daughter Rose Juliet Sackett by letters of administration granted in London on 23 May 1894. Her estate was valued at £101.¹⁶
     In 1901 he was living at 21 Holmes Street, St Leonard's, Shoreditch, London^G, and was recorded as John R Sackett, self-employed boot manufacturer, working at home, head of household, married, aged 78 and born at Mile End, London. Living with him were his son Roland, 40, daughter-in-law Rebecca, 32, and grandson Algernon, aged three months.¹⁷
     John left a will which was proved in London^G on 20 October 1905 by his sons Walter and Roland. His estate was valued at £1,111.¹⁸

Kate Caroline Sackett, daughter of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 19 July 1844.^1,2 She was baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch^G, on 27 July 1845.¹ She died aged 18 in Shoreditch^G,3 and was buried at Victoria Park Cemetery, Hackney, London^G, on 10 May 1863.⁴
     In 1851 Kate was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, London^G, and was recorded in the census as Kate Sackett, a scholar, aged seven and born in Shoreditch, London, daughter of John Sackett.⁵
     In 1861 she was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as Kate Sackett, aged 17, born in Shoreditch, unmarried daughter of John Richard Sackett.⁶

Lavinia Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 6 April 1845^1,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch^G, on 27 July 1845.¹ She died in childhood in Shoreditch^G,3 and was buried at St John the Baptist Church, Hoxton, Middlesex^G, on 4 September 1853.⁴
     In 1851 Lavinia was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, London^G, and was recorded in the census as Lavinia Sackett, a scholar, aged five, born in Shoreditch, the daughter of John Sackett.⁵

Clara Mary Ann Sackett, daughter of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 27 March 1847^1,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 30 September 1849.² She married at St John's Church, Shoreditch^G, on 22 December 1866, Edward George Hallam.^3,4
     In 1851 Clara was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, London^G, and was recorded in the census as Clara Sackett, aged four, born in Shoreditch, the daughter of John Sackett.⁵
     In 1861 she was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as Clara Sackett, a servant, aged 14, born in Shoreditch, the daughter of John Richard Sackett.⁶
     In 1871 she was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St Leonards, Shoreditch^G, in the household of her parents John and Catherine, and was recorded as Clara H Sackett [actually Hallam], a machinist, aged 24 and born in Middlesex. Living with her were her husband Edward Hallam, a clicker, aged 31 and born in Middlesex, and their children Edward W, aged three, and Kate C, aged one, both also born in Middlesex.⁷

Kate Clara Hallam, daughter of Edward George Hallam and Clara Mary Ann Sackett, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 27 September 1869¹ and baptized at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch^G, on 17 October 1869.¹
     In 1871 Kate was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St Leonards, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, and was recorded in the census as Kate C Hillem, aged one and born in Shoreditch. She was living with her parents Edward and Clara in the household of her grandparents John and Catherine Sackett.²

Walter John Samuel Sackett, shoe maker, of Hackney, London, son of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 10 July 1849^1,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 30 September 1849.² He died aged 74 in Hackney^G in 1924.³ He married at St John's Church, Shoreditch^G, on 17 December 1870, Rebecca Janet Hawkins.^4,5 She was born about 1850⁶ and died aged 86 in Hackney^G in 1936.⁷
     In 1851 Walter was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, London^G, and was recorded in the census as Walter Sackett, aged one, born in Shoreditch, the son of John Sackett.⁸
     In 1861 he was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, a scholar, aged 12, born in Shoreditch, the son of John Richard Sackett.⁹
     In 1871 he was living at 73 Great Cambridge Street, St Leonard's, Shoreditch^G, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, a clicker, head of household, married, aged 21 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him was his wife Rebecca, 21.¹⁰

Living with him were his wife Rebecca, aged 39, and born in Shoreditch, and their children, Horace, 19, Emily, 18, Florence, 16, and Walter, aged six.¹²

     Walter and his brother Roland proved their father John's will in London^G on 20 October 1905. His estate was valued at £1,111.¹⁴
     In 1911 he was living at 21 Norfolk Road, Dalston, Hackney, London^G, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, a boot cutter, head of household, aged 61 and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Rebecca, 61, and their married daughter Emily, 37.¹⁵
     In 1921 he was living at 84 Sandringham Road, Hackney^G, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, a retired leather cutter, head of household, aged 71. Living with him were his wife Rebecca, 71, and their widowed daughter Emily Rhodes, 48.¹⁶
