Wilfred George Sackett, son of William Frederick Sackett and Ethel Strevens, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, on 24 September 1919.^1,2 He died there aged 92 on 20 May 2012.³ He married at St George's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 24 June 1944, Florence Edith "Fay" Harper.^4,5

     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Wilfred was living at 82 Manston Road, Ramsgate^G, with his parents William and Ethel. He was an advertisement representative.⁷

George Fegen Sackett, chauffeur, son of George Robert Sackett and Caroline Edith Pillow, was born in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 9 September 1893^1,2,3 and baptized at St Mary's Church, Ramsgate^G, on 20 October 1893.⁴ He died aged 85 in Thanet, Kent^G, on 29 September 1978.^5,6 He married first in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1915, Laura Louisa Revell, daughter of ___ Revell and ___ Lay.^7,8 Laura was born in Pancras, London^G, on 1 November 1892.^10,3 She died aged 69 in Thanet^G in 1962.¹¹ He married second at St George's Church, Ramsgate^G, on 9 October 1965, Daisy Amy Martin, daughter of Alfred James Darker.⁹ Daisy was born on 7 February 1899. She died aged 95 in Thanet, Kent^G, in August 1994.¹²

     In 1911 he was living at 30 Camden Square, Ramsgate^G, in the household of his parents George and Caroline, and was recorded as George Fegen Sackett, a grocer, aged 17 and born in Ramsgate.¹⁴
     George served in the British Army during the First World War as a Private in the Army Service Corps. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal in recognition of active service overseas. He enlisted on 26 June 1915, served in France from 11 August 1915, and was awarded the 1915 Star. He was discharged on 31 July 1917 due to sickness. He was granted a Silver War Badge, to be worn with civilian clothes to indicate that he had been honourably discharged because of illness or injury.^15,16,17
     In 1921 he was living at 16 Upper Dumpton Park Road, Ramsgate^G, and was recorded as George Sackett, head of household, aged 27. He was unable to work at the date of the census as he was undergoing medical treatment. Living with him were his wife Laura, 28, and their children, Joan, 6, and Douglas, aged one.¹⁸

Douglas Sackett, son of George Fegen Sackett and Laura Louisa Revell, was born in St Luke, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in 1920.¹ He died aged 80 in Thanet, Kent^G, on 29 April 2000.^2,3 He married in Ramsgate Christ Church, Kent^G, in 1941, Mabel Annie Doris Castle.^4,5 Mabel was born in Paddington, London^G, on 11 August 1921⁶ and died aged 76 in Thanet^G on 17 March 1998.^7,8
     In 1921 Douglas was living at 16 Upper Dumpton Park Road, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of his parents George and Laura, and was recorded in the census as Douglas Sackett, aged one and born in Broadstairs.⁹
     Douglas joined the British Post Office on 1 July 1940 as an unestablished skilled workman in the telephone manager's office in Canterbury. After the war, he re-joined in May 1945 as a skilled workman class II.^10,11
     Mabel left a will which was proved in Brighton, Sussex^G, on 14 May 1998.⁸
     Douglas left a will which was proved in Brighton^G on 2 June 2000.³

Joyce Eileen Sackett, daughter of George Fegen Sackett and Laura Louisa Revell, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1922.¹ She married in Thanet^G in 1941, Eric J Smith.²

Gordon Sackett, son of George Fegen Sackett and Laura Louisa Revell, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1926.¹ He died aged 86 at Westbrook House, Margate, Kent^G, on 19 January 2013.² He married in Thanet^G in 1952, Jean B Britton.³
