Nelson George Sackett, son of Howard Prentice Sackett and Pearl Gilpin, was born in New York StateG on 12 January 1911.1,2 He died aged 78 on 23 August 19892 and was buried at Erie County Memorial Gardens, PennsylvaniaG.4 He married in Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 11 April 1936, Marie T Jackson.3 Marie was born in 1911. She died aged about 75 in 1986 and was buried at Erie County Memorial GardensG.4
     In 1920 Nelson was living in Ellery, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Howard and Pearl, and was recorded in the census as Nelson Sackett, aged nine and born in New York.5
     In 1930 he was living at Irving Village, Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, and was recorded as Nelson Sackett, a laborer, aged 19. He was living with his father Howard in the household of his grandmother Catherine Sackett.6
     Nelson completed a World War II young men's draft registration card in 1940. He was then living in Erie, PennsylvaniaG, with his wife Marie.7
