William Warren Sackett, son of William Warren Sackett and Armenia Teresa "Minnie" Miller, was born in Oberlin, Lorain County, OhioG, on 28 August 18921,2 and died aged 79 in St Petersburg, Pinellas County, FloridaG, in January 1972.3 He married in Lorain CountyG in 1911, Garnett E Hill, daughter of Valveria ___.4 Garnett was born on 15 December 18905 and died aged 76 in St PetersburgG in June 1967.6
William completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 25 and was living at 143 Humbolt, Wadsworth, Medina County, OhioG, with his wife and three children. He was employed as a machinist.2
In 1920 William was living at Pyle Road, Russia Township, Lorain County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as William W Sackett, a machinist in a steel mill, head of household, aged 28 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Garnett, 28, and their children, Dorothy, 7, William, 5, Mary, 3, and Margret, aged one. Garnett's widowed mother, Valvoria Hill, 61, was also in the household.7
In 1930 he was living at 16th Avenue South, St Petersburg, Pinellas County, FloridaG, and was recorded as William W Sackett, an auto mechanic at a tire company, head of household, aged 37 and born in Ohio. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Garnett, 37, and their children, Dorothy, 17, William, 15, Mary, 13, Margaret, 11, Alice, 7, and James, aged one year five months.8
