Edward Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Jane Logan, was born in Croydon, SurreyG, in 1875.1 He died aged 50 in Greenwich, LondonG,2 and was buried at Greenwich CemeteryG on 16 April 1925.3 He married in St Mary Magdalen, Woolwich, LondonG, on 2 March 1896, Rose Ellen Colbourn, daughter of Charles Colbourn.4,5 Rose was born in Charlton, KentG, on 12 April 1874.6,7 She died aged 91 in GreenwichG,8 and was buried at Greenwich CemeteryG on 31 August 1965.9
In 1881 Edward was living at 4 Alexandra Terrace, Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon, SurreyG, in the household of his parents Edward and Jane, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, aged six and born in Croydon.10
In 1901 he was living at Horncastle Road, Skirbeck, LincolnshireG, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a tailor's cutter, head of household, aged 29 [26]. Living with him were his wife Rose, 26, and their children, Edward, 4, and Gladys, aged three.11
In 1911 he was living at 93 Victoria Road, Charlton, LondonG, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, tailor's cutter, head of household, aged 36 and born in Croydon. Living with him were his wife Rose, 36, and their children, Edward, 14, Gladys, 13, and Sidney, aged eight.12
In 1921 he was living at 48 Mayhill Road, GreenwichG, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a tailor, head of household, aged 46. Living with him were his wife Rose, 47, and their sons, Edward, 25, and Sidney, aged 18.13
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Edward's widow Rose was living at 48 Mayhill Road, GreenwichG. Her daughter Gladys and son Sidney were living with her.14
