Mark Sackett, son of Lieut David Sackett and Lucretia Shepard, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in about 1791.1 He married first in Norwich (later Huntington), MassachusettsG, in 1810, Polly Herrick.2 He married second Sarah "Sally" Heald.3
     In 1850 Mark was living in Dorset, Ashtabula County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Mark Sackett, a farmer, aged 59 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Sarah, 47, and their children, David, 14, Jael, 12, Betsey, 10, Mark, 8, and Joseph, aged four.4
