Henry Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Elizabeth Clifford, was baptized at Birchington Church, KentG, on 12 February 1737/38.1 He died aged 80 in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 20 January 18182 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 24 January 1818.3,2 He married at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 25 October 1767, Mary Sandwell.4 Mary was born in about 1741.5 She died aged 77 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 29 July 1818.6
     Henry was a coachman and servant to a William Brett. In 1771, he went into business on his own account, acquiring horses and a carriage, and operated a daily service between Margate and Canterbury at a rate of four shillings per passenger for the round trip.7
