He was a brakeman on the railroad and was run over by a railroad car.³

He married second before 1868, Bessie M Parsons, daughter of Mary ___. Bessie was born in Connecticut^G about 1849.² He married third in Sheffield^G on 1 March 1879, Emily E Leffingwell, daughter of William Leffingwell and Matilda ___.^7,8 Emily was born on 25 August 1850.¹⁰ She died aged 68 in North Canaan^G on 25 June 1919 and was buried at Ashley Falls Cemetery^G.^10,9

     In 1920 he was living in Canaan, Litchfield County^G, and was recorded as T L Sackett, a farmer, aged 77. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his son William, 39, daughter-in-law Ruth, 36, and their children, Trelawney, 13, and Marion, aged ten.¹⁷

William F Sackett, wagon maker, of Ashley Falls, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, son of Joseph Sackett and Philena E Root, was born in Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, in October 1845.^1,2 He died aged 90 in Ashley Falls^G on 25 November 1934³ and was buried at Sackett (Ashley Falls) Cemetery^G.⁴ He married first Adelaide Peck, daughter of John Peck and Louisa Turner. Adelaide was born in Winsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, in May 1850.^1,5 She died aged 55 in Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts^G, on 18 August 1905⁶ and was buried at Sackett (Ashley Falls) Cemetery^G on 20 August 1905.⁷ He married second after 1905, Emma Jane Pinney. Emma was born in 1863.⁸ She died aged about 63 in North Canaan, Litchfield County^G, in 1926 and was buried at Sackett (Ashley Falls) Cemetery^G.⁸

     In 1920 he was living at School Street, Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts^G, and was recorded as William Sackett, a self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 75. Living with him were his wife Emma, 57, and adopted granddaughter Dorothy, aged 11. Also in the household was William's grandson Richard Bownes, aged two.¹³
     In 1930 he was living at Ashley Falls Village, Sheffield^G, and was recorded as William F Sackett, head of household, a widower, aged 85. He owned his home. Living with him were his adopted grandchildren, Dorothy, 21, and Irving, 12.¹⁴

     In 1910 Olive's widower Harry, 33, was a farm laborer in North Canaan, Litchfield County^G, in the household of Bertha Granger, a farmer.⁵

Annie M Sackett, daughter of William F Sackett and Adelaide Peck, was born in Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts^G, on 31 August 1889.¹ She married in Torrington, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 19 November 1916, Robert Frank Bownes, a laborer, son of Frank Bownes and Bessie Chapman.² Robert was born in Sharon, Litchfield County^G, on 18 October 1888 and died aged 79 in Sheffield^G on 15 November 1967.³
     In 1900 Annie was living in Sheffield^G in the household of her parents William and Adelaide, and was recorded in the census as Annie M Sackett, aged ten and born in Massachusetts.⁴
     In 1910 she was living at Ashley Falls Village, Sheffield^G, and was recorded as Annie M Sackett, single, aged 21. She was a servant to Charles Landon, 72, a widower.⁵
     In 1920 (and 1930), Annie's husband Robert was living with his parents Frank and Bessie in Sheffield^G. He was described as single. Annie and Robert's son Richard was apparently adopted by Annie's father and stepmother as he was living with them in 1920, and with Annie's father, by then a widower, in 1930. These circumstances suggest that Annie had died by 1920, although a record has not been found.⁶

George H Sackett, son of William F Sackett and Adelaide Peck, was born in North Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 20 July 1873.^1,2 He died there in infancy on 9 January 1874³ and was buried at Sackett (Ashley Falls) Cemetery, Ashley Falls^G.¹
