Loren Clifford Sackett, son of George Sackett and Pearl Blakey, was born in Nixa, Christian County, MissouriG, on 4 June 1918.1 He died aged 90 in Springfield, Greene County, MissouriG, on 28 July 2008.1,2 He married in Imperial County, CaliforniaG, on 14 May 1964, Anne E Grant.1 They were divorced in 1971.1

Loren obtained his undergraduate degree from MIT and a graduate degree in physics from Stanford. After graduating he went on to a lengthy and distinguished career in scientific research and development. This included a period as one of the top engineers at Chrysler Corporation as well as research and development for the
United States government. His name is on several patents that were innovative breakthroughs leading to the development of NASA space flight and groundbreaking military advancements. After residing for many years in California, Loren returned to Missouri in the late 1960s where he continued his private research interest for many years.
