Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, son of Josiah Adams and Mary Sackett Watson Horton, was born in Monkton, Kent^G, in 1812¹ and baptized there on 3 May 1812.^2,3 He died there aged 72^4,5 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton^G, on 20 June 1884.^7,8 He married at St Mary Magdalene Church^G on 12 August 1830, Mary Hogbin, daughter of Thomas Hogbin and Sarah ___.^2,6 Mary was born in Monkton^G about 1804¹ and baptized there on 29 January 1804.⁹ She died there aged 78 on 17 July 1882 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton^G.⁸
     In 1851 Sackett was living in Monkton^G and was recorded in the census as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 39 and born in Monkton. Living with him were his wife Mary, 47, and their children, Emma, 20, and Frederick, aged 13.¹⁰
     In 1861 he was living at Monkton Street, Monkton^G, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith employing three men, head of household, aged 49 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 57.¹¹
     In 1871 he was living at Monkton Street, Monkton^G, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 59 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 67.¹²
     In 1881 he was living at Main Road, Monkton^G, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a retired blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 69 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 77.¹³
     Sackett Adams was recorded as "the person responsible for the funeral" of his grandson and namesake in January 1884, five months before his own death.
     Sackett Adams made a will which was proved at Canterbury, Kent^G, on 25 July 1884. His personal estate was valued at £443.¹⁴

Emma Adams, daughter of Sackett Adams and Mary Hogbin, was born in Monkton, Kent^G, in 1831 and baptized there on 27 March 1831.^1,2 She died there aged 24 on 3 June 1855³ and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton^G, on 9 June 1855.^4,5
     In 1851 Emma was living in Monkton^G in the household of her parents Sackett and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Emma Adams, single, aged 20 and born in Monkton.⁶

Mary Sackett Watson Horton, daughter of John Horton and Mary Fowler, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 7 June 1776 and baptized at St Peter's Church^G on 23 July 1776.¹ She died aged 92² and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton, Kent^G, on 19 January 1869.⁴ She married at St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 17 November 1798, Josiah Adams, son of William Adams and Ann Lyon.³
     In 1841 Mary was living at Princes Street, Margate, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Mary Adams, aged 65+ and born in Kent. Living with her was her daughter Martha, aged 20+.⁵
