Lillian Sackett
Fostoria, Ohio — Lillian Sackett, 69, of 733 N. Main St., Fostoria, died early this morning in Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
She and her husband, Ralph, have a summer home in Kenykirk Addition (1616 N. Edgewater Dr.) They owned Sackett's Greenhouse in Fostoria.
Surviving are her widower and also a son Ralph Jr. of Fostoria.
Mrs. Sackett was a member of Catawba Island Club.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from Mann Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Fostoria—Ralph Emerson Sackett, Sr., 95 of 733 N. Main Street in Fostoria, died Friday morning in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1905 to Emerson R. and Laura (Imber) Sackett. On Sept. 7, 1933, he married Lillian Downey at United Brethren Church in Fostoria and she preceded him on July 2, 1976.
Mr. Sackett was the owner and operator of Sackett's Greenhouse in Fostoria before retiring in 1969.
He was a 1924 graduate of Fostoria High. He was also director of the Ohio Savings and Loan Association from 1947 to 1979, and was vice president from 1955 to 1979.
He was a member of the Catawba Island Country Club.
Sackett was also a 60-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 288 F&AM, Fostoria Commandery No. 62, Garfield Chapter No. 150, Fostoria Council No. 90, 32nd Degree Mason with Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, and a 50-year member of the Fostoria Shrine Club and Zenobia Shrine of Toledo.
He is survived by a son, Ralph E. Sackett Jr., of Fostoria.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents and sisters Mable and Clara Sackett.
Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, graveside in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Ralph E. "Sonny" Sackett Jr.
Ralph E. “Sonny” Sackett Jr., 83, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Fostoria, to Ralph E. and Lillian (Downey) Sackett Sr., who preceded him in death.
Ralph is survived by many friends.
Sonny graduated from Fostoria High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned the former Sackett’s Greenhouse and was an avid genealogist. He used his expertise to help people with their ancestry and encouraged them to join the numerous patriotic organizations. Sonny was a frequent visitor in the Genealogy Department of Kaubish Public Library, where he had many friends and was on the board at one time. He was also on the board of directors of Ohio Savings and Loan Association, and was a 55-year member of Fostoria Masonic Lodge #288.
Other memberships included being a lifetime member of Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, currently the John Hancock Chapter in Findlay, the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War in Ohio, The First Families of Defiance County, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, where he participated in numerous activities and events, First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, and he was a former member of Catawba Island Club (CIC). Sonny also participated in the Kids Mentor program at the high school and donated many coats for children. He will be remembered for his many contributions to the community.
Sonny's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. Committal service will follow at Veteran’s Memorial Chapel of Fountain Cemetery, where Fostoria United Veterans will provide military honors. Burial will follow at Emma Pillars Garden of Memory in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society or to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, in care of the funeral home.

Waukesha, April 29.—Sarah S. Sackett, relict of Squire Sackett, one of the first settlers of Milwaukee, died yesterday afternoon, after a prolonged illness. She was in her 77th year.

Miriam J Lee, daughter of John Lee and Eliza Sackett, was born in PennsylvaniaG on 7 October 1838.1 She died in Smithfield, Huntingdon County, PennsylvaniaG, on 3 July 1900.2 She was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon CountyG, on 6 July 1900.2 She married Jonathan Morgan. He was born in PennsylvaniaG about 1840.3 He died in 1866.3

- The Huntingdon Journal, (Pennsylvania), 12 July 1900, "Widow of Jonathan Morgan, died at her home in Smithfield, on Tuesday evening, 3rd inst., the results of a paralytic stroke received some weeks ago, aged 61 years, 8 months and 26 days. Deceased had been a resident of this county almost all of her life, and a resident of Smithfield for upwards of fifteen years. She was a member of the second M. E. Church, and leaves to mourn her loss three children: George A. Morgan, of this place; Harry, of Lawrence, Ohio, and James, of Hollidaysburg. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. with interment in Riverview Cemetery.”.
