DeAzro Ashley Nichols, son of Lorrel Nichols and Sarah Elizabeth Knight, was born in Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 31 January 1828.1 He died aged 82 in WestfieldG on 24 September 1910 and was buried at East Ripley Cemetery, Ripley, Chautauqua CountyG.1 He married in RipleyG in June 1852, Clarissa A Dickson.2
     In 1880 DeAzro was living at 94 Jay Street, Albany, Albany County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as De Arzo A Nichols, an editor, aged 52 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Clarissa, their children, Elizabeth, 27, and Brayton, 17, and a niece Clara Sackett, 21.3
