William James Sackett, a master plasterer, son of Herbert Sackett and Mary Jane Ashby, was born in Canterbury, Kent^G, on 28 September 1911.^1,2,3 He died there aged 88 in June 2000.⁴ He married in Canterbury, Kent^G, in 1937, Mabel Evelyn Clifford, daughter of Cyril Claude Clifford and Edith Mills.^5,6 Mabel was born in Dartford, Kent^G, on 20 February 1917^7,8 and died aged 75 in Canterbury, Kent^G, in 1992.⁹
     In 1921 William was living at 52 Wincheap Street, Canterbury^G, in the household of his parents Herbert and Mary, and was recorded in the census as William James Sackett, aged ten and born in Canterbury.¹⁰
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, William was living at 2 Prickle Lane, Canterbury, Kent^G. He was a plasterer. One of three closed records was probably that of his wife Mabel. They were living in the household of Mabel's father Cyril Clifford.¹¹

Thomas Ernest Sackett, son of Herbert Sackett and Mary Jane Ashby, was born in Canterbury, Kent^G, on 16 September 1912¹ and baptized at St Mildred, Canterbury^G, on 1 December 1912.² He died aged 81 in Canterbury, Kent^G, in November 1993.³ He married first in Bridge, Kent^G, in 1938, Mary A Harrison.^4,5 He married second in Canterbury^G in 1950, Barbara Marjorie Andrews.^6,7 Barbara died in Kent^G on 20 September 2012.⁸
