George Thomas Sackett, son of Frederick Sackett and Mary Culmer, was born in Lambeth, SurreyG, on 20 July 18441 and baptized at St John the Evangelist, LambethG, on 11 August 1844.2 He died aged 63 in Dover, KentG, in 1908.3 He married at St Luke, Bermondsey, SurreyG, on 25 December 1865, Margaret Still, daughter of John Henry Still.4,5,6,7 She was born in BermondseyG in about 18358 and died aged 83 in DoverG in 1918.9
In 1851 George was living at Barley Mow Brewery, Wyldes Rents, Bermondsey, SurreyG, in the household of his parents Frederick and Mary, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, a scholar, aged six and born in Lambeth.10
In 1861 he was living at Phoenix Brewery, Margate, KentG, in the household of his stepfather William Goldsack and mother Mary, and was recorded as George Sackett, aged 16, and born in Lambeth.11
George's wife Margaret gave birth to a stillborn daughter in DoverG on 31 October 1866.12
In 1871 he was living at Military Road, Dover, KentG, and was recorded as George T Sackett, a coach body maker, head of household, married, aged 26, and born in Lambeth. Living with him were his wife Margaret, aged 34, and born in Bermondsey, and their children, Jessie, 2, and George, aged one.4
