George Ernest Sackett, shoemaker, son of George Thomas Sackett and Margaret Still, was born in Hougham, Dover, KentG, on 5 March 1870.2,3,4 He died aged 73 at Etching Hill, Lyminge, Folkestone, KentG, on 22 June 1943.5,6,7 He married in DoverG on 25 February 1919, Annie Elizabeth Baker, daughter of ___ Baker and ___ Seath.8,9,10 Annie was born in DoverG in 1851.11 She died aged 75 at home at 46 Dour Street, Dover, KentG, on 25 September 192612,6 and was buried at Ss Peter & Paul Church, Charlton-in-Dover, KentG, on 30 September 1926.13
     In 1871 George was living at Military Road, Dover, KentG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded in the census as George E Sackett, aged 1, and born in Dover.1
     In 1881 he was living at Military Road, Hougham, KentG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded as George Sackett, a scholar, aged 11 and born in Dover.14
     In 1891 he was living at 15 Military Road, DoverG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded as George E Sackett, a shoemaker, single, aged 21 and born in Dover.15
     In 1901 he was living at 15 Military Road, DoverG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded as George E Sackett, a shoemaker, single, aged 31, and born in Hougham.16
     In 1911 he was living at 15 Military Road, DoverG, in the household of his widowed mother Margaret, and was recorded as George Sackett, a bootmaker, single, aged 41.17
     In 1921 he was living at 46 Dour Street, DoverG, and was recorded as George E Sackett, a boot maker, head of household, aged 51. His wife Anne, 70, was living with him.18
     George proved his wife Annie's will on 2 November 1926. Her estate was valued at £1,101.19
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, George was living at 46 Dour Street, DoverG. He was a boot repairer.20
     George left a will which was proved on 26 August 1943. His estate was valued at £228.21
