Walter John Sackett, son of Walter John Samuel Sackett and Rebecca Janet Hawkins, was born in Hackney, MiddlesexG, in 1884.1 He died aged 73 at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, SussexG, on 15 June 1957.2,3 He married at St Philip, Dalston, LondonG, on 28 November 1909, Charlotte Victoria Stewardson, daughter of George William Stewardson.4,5 Charlotte was born about 1886.6 She died aged 71 at St Helens, Stocker Road, Bognor Regis, SussexG, on 22 March 1958.7,3
In 1891 Walter was living at 6 Montague Road, Hackney, MiddlesexG, in the household of his parents Walter and Rebecca, and was recorded in the census as Walter Sackett, aged six and born in Hackney.8
In 1901 he was living at 6 Montague Road, Dalston, Hackney, LondonG, in the household of his parents Walter and Rebecca, and was recorded as Walter J Sackett, an office boy, aged 16 and born in Hackney.9
Walter was employed as a clerk in the Labour Exchanges and Unemployment Insurance Branch of the Board of Trade in 1914.10
In 1921 he was living at 95 Canterbury Road, MargateG, and was recorded as Walter John Sackett, manager of the employment exchange in Ramsgate, head of household, aged 37.Living with him were his wife Charlotte, 35, and their son Eric, aged eight.11
Walter left a will which was proved on 24 July 1957 by his son Eric. His estate was valued at £6,376.12
