Alfred Francis Sackett, a commercial clerk, son of Alfred George Sackett and Annie Marion Budge, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, in 1888.1,2 He died aged 74 at Central Middlesex Hospital, Park Royal, MiddlesexG, on 5 December 1962.3,4 He married in Chelsea, LondonG, in 1909, Edith Emily Atkins, daughter of ___ Atkins and ___ Green.5,6 Edith was born in Amersham, BuckinghamshireG, in 18907 and died aged 62 in WillesdenG in 1952.8
In 1891 Alfred was living at 14 Meeting Street, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Annie, and was recorded in the census as Alfred F Sackett, aged two and born in Ramsgate.9
In 1901 he was living at 329 Kennington Road, Lambeth, LondonG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Marion, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, aged 12 and born in Ramsgate.10
In 1911 he was living at 224 Putney Bridge Road, High Street, Putney, Wandsworth, LondonG, in the household of William Fewings, a wardrobe dealer, and was recorded as Alfred Francis Sackett, a billiards marker, married, aged 22 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Edith, 20, and their infant children, Edith Frances and Claude Lennard Alfred.11
Alfred served in the British Army during the First World War in the Army Service Corps. He was awarded the British and Victory medals, having seen active service overseas.12,13
Alfred was granted administration on 8 August 1959 of his brother Sidney's estate, valued at £4,950.14
Alfred made a will which was proved by his son Dennis at the Principal Probate Registry, LondonG, on 17 January 1963. The estate was valued at £2,468.15
