Rev John Sackett MA, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Ann Terry, was baptized at Canterbury, KentG, on 6 September 1670.1 He died aged about 82 in Hawkinge, KentG, and was buried there on 28 January 1753.6 He married first at Patrixbourne, KentG, on 31 October 1702, Margaret (___) Tempest.2,3 Margaret was buried at Folkestone, KentG, on 25 November 1727.7 He married second at Canterbury St AlphegeG on 22 April 1729, Margaret Lunn, daughter of Rev William Lunn and Elizabeth ___.4,5 Margaret was baptized at Denton, KentG, on 17 January 1677/78.8 She died aged 91 and was buried at DentonG on 23 March 1769.9
John was named as a beneficiary in his uncle John Sackett's will made in Braunston, County of City of LincolnG, on 10 June 1680. He was granted the reversion of his uncle's lands and tenements in St Peter's and St John's after the death of his father Nathaniel.10
John was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in CanterburyG on 12 January 1681/82. He was to inherit his father's land at Sackett's Hill at age 21 and his father stipulated that he should be sent to university as soon as is fitting.11
John was admitted to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, in 1688. He was awarded a BA degree in 1690/91 and an MA in 1694. He was ordained deacon in Lincoln on 12 February 1692/93, and priest in London on 8 March 1695/96. He was vicar of Folkestone, Kent, from 1699 to 1753, rector of Hawking, Kent, from 1713 to 1753, and vicar of West Hythe, Kent, from 1732 to 1753. He was master of Eastbridge Hospital, Canterbury, in succession to his grandfather Rev John Sackett, from 1746 to 1753.12
In 1716, Rev John Sackett wrote a detailed letter to the Royal Society "Giving an Account of a very uncommon sinking of the Earth, near Folkestone in Kent". He described a "remarkable" phenomenon, "known to almost all hereabouts, concerning the pressing forward of the Cliffs, and sinking of the Hills in the Neighbourhood of our Town of Folkestone."
John made a will at Folkestone, KentG, probably in 1753. He left all his personal effects to his wife Margaret.13
John's widow Margaret made her will in Barham, KentG, on 28 August 1766, naming as beneficiaries her brother and sister and various non-Sackett nephews and nieces.14

George Sackett, Royal Navy seaman, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Ann Terry, was born about 1677.1 He died sometime before February 1708 while serving abroad on the Royal Navy ship The Rye.
George was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in CanterburyG on 12 January 1681/82.2 He was to inherit property at Margate jointly with his brothers Nathaniel and Samuel when Nathaniel reached 21.
George died intestate. Letters of administration of his estate were granted at the Prerogative Court of CanterburyG in February 1708 to his brother Samuel.3
