Paul Sackett, shipwright of St John in Thanet, Kent, son of Paul Sackett and Ann (___) Simmons, was baptized at St John in ThanetG on 25 July 1736.1 He died aged 44 in St John in ThanetG on 24 May 17812 and was buried there on 30 May 1781.2,7 He married first at St John in ThanetG on 25 December 1762, Margaret Wheatley.3,4 She died on 20 April 1774 and was buried at St John in ThanetG on 27 April 1774.2,8 Paul married second at Ash next Sandwich, KentG, on 1 August 1776, Alice Reynolds.5,6 Alice was born about 17539 and died aged 73 in LondonG in 1826.10 She was buried at Bunhill Fields, LondonG, on 13 April 1826.10
     Paul was named in his father Paul's will made at MargateG on 4 April 1752.11
     As a master shipwright, Paul took on a number of apprentices. He paid stamp duty on apprenticeship indentures for George Smith in 1760, Robert Watson, 1765, Francis Spiller, 1767, Richard Clarke, 1769, Jethro Sandwell, 1775, and Silver Matthews in 1778.12
     Paul, described as a boat-builder, was involved in the sale of imported timber at MargateG in 1770.13
     Paul's widow Alice made her will in Penton Place, Pentonville, MiddlesexG, on 1 December 1820, naming as sole beneficiary her late husband's granddaughter Sarah Eleanor Sackett, to whom she left everything.14

Ann Sackett, daughter of Paul Sackett and Ann (___) Simmons, was baptized at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 7 August 1740.1 She died unmarried aged 41 and was buried at St John in ThanetG on 17 July 1781.2
     Ann was named in her father Paul's will made at MargateG on 4 April 1752.3
     Ann made her will at St John in ThanetG on 1 May 1781, the main beneficiaries being her nephews, Paul Sackett and Thomas Wheatley Sackett, minor sons of her late brother Paul.4 They were to inherit all her lands and the residue of her estate when they reached 21. The assets were to be put in a trust in the meantime, the income to be used to provide for her nephews' support and education.
