Sarah Eleanor Sackett, daughter of Paul Sackett and Hannah Bloxham, was born in Margate, Kent^G, on 8 May 1792¹ and baptized at St John, Margate^G, on 28 June 1792.¹ She died aged 56 in St James, Clerkenwell, Middlesex^G, in 1849² and was buried at St James, Pentonville Road, Islington, Middlesex^G.⁴ She married at St James, Clerkenwell^G, on 14 July 1821, Thomas Harris Devonshire.³
     Sarah was named as a beneficiary in her father's will made in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 1 May 1804.⁵
     Sarah was named as sole beneficiary in her step grandmother Alice Reynolds's will made in Penton Place, Pentonville, Middlesex^G, on 1 December 1820. She was left everything and was joint executor with her husband Thomas Harris Devonshire.⁶
     In 1841 Sarah was living in St James, Clerkenwell^G, in the household of her husband Thomas, 49, a clerk, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Devonshire, aged 49 and born not in Middlesex. Their children, Thomas, 19, Ann, 17, and Elizabeth, 4, were living with them. There was also a female servant in the household.⁷

Samuel Sackette, son of Paul Sackett and Hannah Bloxham, was born in Margate, Kent^G, on 20 July 1793¹ and baptized at St John, Margate^G, on 14 August 1793.² He died aged 62 in Margate^G in 1855³ and was buried at St John, Margate^G, on 31 July 1855.⁶ He married at St Mary, Faversham, Kent^G, on 30 April 1825, Louisa Rebecca Chambers.^4,5 Louisa was born in Faversham^G about 1794⁷ and died aged 71 in Birmingham, Warwickshire^G, in 1865.⁸
     Samuel was unusual in spelling his surname "Sackette". The apparently affected use of the final "e" was continued by his daughters.
     Samuel acquired the Marine Boarding House in Ramsgate in 1819 and continued to run the establishment for most of his life. Advertising his new business in the London Times, he assured "those Ladies and Gentlemen who may honour him with their favours, that he has made arrangements for conducting the Boarding Establishment on a plan which he flatters himself will be found to ensure every degree of domestic comfort and liberal treatment." Families could be "accommodated with private sitting-rooms having good sea views."⁹ He was at some time the deputy mayor of Ramsgate.¹⁰
     Samuel was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 1 May 1804.¹¹
     In 1841 Samuel was living at Rose Hill, Ramsgate, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sackett, a bookseller, aged 45+ and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Louisa, 45+, and their children, Mary, 11, Annie, 9, and Margaret, aged seven.¹²
     In 1851 he was living at Marine House, Ramsgate, Kent^G, and was recorded as Samuel Sackett, proprietor of house, head of household, married, aged 57 and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Louisa, aged 57 and born in Faversham, their unmarried daughters, Louisa, 24, Mary, 21, Anne, 19, and Margaret, 17, a visitor James Easton (who was later to marry Ann), and one male and two female house servants.¹³
     Samuel was listed as a voter in the Ramsgate District in 1852. He was living at Cliff Street, Ramsgate^G.¹⁴
     Samuel's will, made in Ramsgate^G on 3 September 1849, was proved at Canterbury on 28 June 1856. He left all his estate, real and personal, to his wife Rebecca while she remained a widow, with reversion in equal parts to his four daughters.¹⁵ He left all his real and personal estate to his wife during her widowhood, with reversion in equal parts to his four daughters.
     In 1861 Samuel's widow Louisa was living at 7 Barrow Hill Terrace, Ashford, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Louisa R Sackett, a fundholder, head of household, aged 67. Living with her was her unmarried daugher Louisa, 34. Also in the household were a male boarder and a female domestic servant.¹⁶

John Wheatley Sackett, son of Paul Sackett and Hannah Bloxham, was born in Margate, Kent^G, on 18 November 1794¹ and baptized at St John in Thanet^G on 12 December 1794.¹
     John was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 1 May 1804.²
     No further record has been found.

Paul Sackett, son of Paul Sackett and Hannah Bloxham, was born in Margate, Kent^G, on 19 January 1797¹ and baptized at St John, Margate^G, on 1 March 1797.¹ He died aged 18, while serving as a soldier in Chatham, Kent^G, and was buried at St Mary the Virgin, Chatham^G, on 27 August 1815.²
     Paul was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 1 May 1804.³

Robert Tomlin, son of Robert Sackett Tomlin and Elizabeth Anne Bankes, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 4 April 1822^1,2 and baptized at St Peter in Thanet^G on 14 May 1822.¹ He died aged 48 in Thanet^G on 12 December 1870.³
     In 1841 Robert was living at The Hall, Great Abington, Cambridgeshire^G, in the household of his parents Robert and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Robert Tomlin, aged 19 and born not in Cambridgeshire.⁴
