Julia E Sackett, daughter of Russel Sackett and Polly Brass, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in 1817.1,2 She died there aged 75 on 28 November 1892 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.5,6 She married in WestfieldG in 1841, George J Dow, son of Henry Dow and Betsey Watson.1,3,4 George was born in Northwood, Rockingham County, New HampshireG, in 1819.7,2 He died aged 83 in WestfieldG on 13 October 1902 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.6,8
In 1850 Julia was living in WestfieldG in the household of her husband George, 31, a whip maker, and was recorded in the census as Julia E Dow, aged 33 and born in Massachusetts. Living with them were their children, Maria, 8, and Charles, aged two.9
In 1880 she was living in 364 Chapel Street, WestfieldG, in the household of her husband George, 61, a whip maker, and was recorded as Julia E Dow, aged 63.10
