Caleb Sackett, son of Russel Sackett and Polly Brass, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 4 August 1815.1,2,3 He died aged 66 in WestfieldG on 25 March 18821,4 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.9 He married in Springfield, Hampden CountyG, on 4 August 1841, Jerusha Blood, daughter of Ebenezer Blood and Hannah Paddock.1,5,6,7,8 Jerusha was born in Easthampton, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG, on 26 February 1818.2,3 She died aged 82 in WestfieldG on 11 March 1900 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.10,9
     In 1850 Caleb was living in WestfieldG and was recorded in the census as Caleb Sacket, a whip maker, aged 34 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Jerusha, 33, and their children, Mary, 7, Martha, 4, Lucy, 2, and an unnamed daughter aged three months.11
     In 1860 he was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Caleb Sacket, a whip maker, aged 42. Living with him were his wife Jerusha, 38, and their children, Martha, 15, Lucy, 12, and Frank, aged one.12
     In 1870 he was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Cabel Sackett, a farmer, aged 54. Living with him were his wife Jerusha, aged 52, and son Frank, aged twelve. Sharing the property were the family of Celestia (Doane) Sacket, widow of Caleb's second cousin, Enoch Sacket.13
     In 1880 he was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Caleb Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 65. Living with him were his wife Jerusha, aged 62, and their unmarried son Frank E, aged 21.14
     Caleb made his will in WestfieldG on 18 March 1882, leaving all real and personal estate to his wife Jerusha "with confidence that she will make a just use of the same during her lifetime and an equitable disposition of the same as regards our children namely Mary Ames, Martha L Cooley, Lucy Cadwell and Frank E Sacket."15
