Mercy Sacket, daughter of Russell Sacket and Polly Brass, was born in MassachusettsG in about 1814.1
     In 1850 Mercy was living in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in the household of her mother Polly, and was recorded in the census as Mercy Sacket, aged 36, and born in Massachusetts. Living with her was her son William, aged 11.2
     In 1860 she was living in WestfieldG in the household of her brother Rowland, and was recorded as Mercy Sacket, a whip maker, aged 44, and born in Massachusetts. Living with her was her son William W Halliday, 21.3
     In 1870 she was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Mercy Sackett, keeping house, aged 57 and born in Massachusetts. Living with her were her son William, 31, her niece Clara Sacket, 6, nephew Jasper Sacket, 4, mother Polly, 83, and sister Eliza, aged 45.4
     In 1880 she was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Mercy Sackett, head of household, single, aged 66 and born in Massachusetts. Living with her was her unmarried son William, 42. They were living next door to Mercy's sister Lucy and brother-in-law Samuel Judd.5
