Austin Sacket, a whip maker, son of Heman Sackett and Experience Searle, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in 18121 and died there on 19 July 1878.2 He married in WestfieldG on 2 May 1837, Charlotte Hayes.3
     In 1870 Austin was living at Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, and was recorded in the census as Austin Sackett, working in whip shop, aged 57, and born in Massachusetts. Living with him was his wife Charlotte, aged 50, and born in Massachusetts, and their children, De Witt, 24, Augusta, 17, and Katie, aged 15.4
