William Sackett, son of Captain John Sackett and Elizabeth Gibbs, was born on 23 February 17841 and died aged 64 in Newtown, Long Island, New York StateG, on 4 February 1849.1,2 He married Gertrude Meserole, daughter of John Meserole.1 Gertrude was born in about 17893 and died aged 51 in Newtown, Long Island, New York StateG, on 29 January 1841.4
     William was named as a beneficiary in his grandfather William Sackett's will made in Newtown, Long IslandG, on 7 June 1798.5
     William Sackett was a member of a company of Queens County Militia.
