William Sackett, son of Azariah Sackett and Elizabeth Young, was born in OhioG in 1799.1,2 He died aged about 61 in Putnam County, OhioG, on 1 December 1860 and was buried at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa, Putnam CountyG.2 He married in Franklin County, OhioG, on 31 December 1822, Rachel Lisle, daughter of John Lisle and Rachel Irwin.1,3 Rachel was born in Franklin County, OhioG, in 1805.2 She died aged 44 in Putnam County, OhioG, on 7 January 1849 and was buried at Harman Cemetery, GilboaG.2
William was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Ottawa, Putnam County, OhioG.4
In 1850 William was living in Ottawa, Putnam County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a farmer, aged 48 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his children, Rebecca, 20, Robert, 15, and James, aged twelve.5
