John Sackett, son of John Sackett MD and ___ ___, was born in Albany, Rensselaer County, New York StateG, on 18 August 1747.1 He died aged 57 at Wayne Lake, Steuben County, New York StateG, on 26 July 1805 and was buried at Weston Cemetery, Tyrone, Schuyler County, New York StateG.2 He married in Amenia, Dutchess County, New York StateG, on 26 October 1769, Prudence Atherton, daughter of James Atherton and Elizabeth Dormant.1,3,4,5 Prudence was born in 1748.1 She died aged 60 on 5 October 1808 and was buried at Weston CemeteryG.2
     John Sackett was a soldier in the American Revolutionary War.6,7
     John's wife Prudence was left an equal share with her sister Mary and two other siblings in 150 acres of land in Northmoreland Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in her father James Atherton's will made in Kingstown, Luzerne County on 3 March 1789.8
     In 1790 John was living in Stephentown, Albany County, New York StateG. In his household were three males (16+), one male under 16, and six females.9

719. John Sackett, 1747–__, of Albany (now Rensselaer) County, N. Y., son of (268) John Sackett, M. D., was married Oct. 26, 1769, to Prudence Atherton, 1748– ?, daughter of James Atherton. John Sackett was a Revolutionary soldier and is credited with service in regiments commanded by Colonels John Field and Henry Luddington.
