Zavan Sacket Sr, son of Isaac Sacket and Elizabeth Shepard, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 28 April 17511,2,3 and baptized at the Church of Christ, WestfieldG, on 2 September 1751.4 He died aged 89 in Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, on 26 October 18405 and was buried at Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, Crawford CountyG.6 He married first in WestfieldG on 31 May 1778, Miriam Brooks.7,8,9 He married second in Southampton, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG, on 6 February 1779, Abigail Bills.1,10 Abigail was born in about 1759.11 She died aged 83 on 15 October 1842 and was buried at Greendale CemeteryG.12
     Zavan served as a private in the American Revolutionary War. In a 1801 tax list he was listed as Lt Zaven Sackett.6,13
     In 1790 Zavan was living in Norwich, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG. In his household were one man, five boys, and three females.14
     Zavan was assessed for State and Town taxes in Huntington (formerly Norwich)G from 1797 to 1815.15
     Zavan was listed in the census in 1800 and 1810 as a householder in Norwich, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG.16,17
     He removed from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania sometime between 1815 and 1820 and was listed in the census in 1820, 1830, and 1840 as a householder in Mead, Crawford CountyG.18,19,20
     He was listed in the 1841 census of Revolutionary War pensioners. At the reference date of 1 June 1840, he was living in Mead, Crawford CountyG, and, according to the record, was aged 91. He was actually 89.21

184. Zaven Sacket, 1751–__?, of Westfield, Mass., Chester, Mass., and Meadville, Penn., son of (39) Isaac and Elisabeth Shepard Sacket, was married to Abigail Bills, of Westfield. His record of service in War of Revolution reads:
     Sacket, Zaven, Westfield, Private Capt. Warham Parks' Company, Col. Timothy Donulson's(?) Regt. Muster Roll dated Aug. 1, 1775, service 3 mo. 4 days. Also Company return dated Roxbury (probably October, 1775). Also pension bounty coat or its equivalent in money.
