Sarah Nethercott, daughter of John Nethercott and Joan Popham, was born in Carhampton, Somerset^G, about 1822.¹ She died aged 48 in Treborough, Somerset^G, on 15 March 1871 and was buried at Treborough Parish Churchyard^G.^4,5,6,7 She married in Treborough, Somerset^G, on 22 April 1848, Richard Collins, son of Robert Collins.^2,3
     In 1841 Sarah was living in Luxborough, Somerset^G, in the household of her parents John and Jean, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Nethercott, aged 15+ and born in Somerset.⁸
     In 1851 she was living in Carhampton, Somerset^G, and was recorded as Sarah Collings, aged 29 and born in Carhampton. She was living with her husband Richard, 28, an agricultural labourer, her daughter Louisa Nethercott, 4, and Richard and Sarah's children, Elizabeth, 2, and Mary, aged one month.⁹
     In 1861 she was living at Holwell Cottage, Treborough, Somerset^G, and was recorded as Sarah Collings, aged 39. She was living with her husband Richard, 38, a slate cutter, and six children, including Emma, aged six.¹⁰

John Nethercott, son of Daniel Nethercott and Grace Sutton, was baptized at Luxborough, Somerset^G, on 30 July 1797.¹ He married in Old Cleeve, Somerset^G, on 18 June 1819, Joan Popham.²
     In 1841 John was living in Luxborough, Somerset^G, and was recorded in the census as John Nethercott, an agricultural labourer, aged 40+ and born in Somerset. Living with him were his wife Jean, 40+, and eight children, including Sarah, aged 15+.³

Joan Popham was born in Somerset^G before 1801.¹ She married in Old Cleeve, Somerset^G, on 18 June 1819, John Nethercott, son of Daniel Nethercott and Grace Sutton.²
