Sarah Selina Sackett, daughter of Norman Sackett and Sally Northrup, was born in Tallmadge, Summit County, OhioG, in 1820.1 She died aged 32 in Ruggles Township, Ashland County, OhioG, on 5 September 1852.1 She married in Huron County, OhioG, on 1 October 1838, William J Reynolds.2

Ashman Sackett, a farmer of Illinois, son of Norman Sackett and Mary Goudy, was born in Portage County, OhioG, on 7 March 1830.1 He died aged 84 in Chicago, Cook County, IllinoisG, on 6 September 1914.2 He married in Morgan County, IllinoisG, on 25 November 1852, Sarah Morehouse.3
     In 1860 Ashman was living in Decatur Township, Macon County, IllinoisG, and was recorded in the census as Ashman Sackett, a farmer, aged 29 and born in Ohio. His real estate was valued at $6,000 and personal estate at $450. Living with him were his wife Sarah, 24, son Homer, 2, and daughter Alice, aged 11 months.4
     In 1870 he was living in DecaturG and was recorded as Ashmon Sackett, a farmer, aged 40. Living with him were his wife Sarah, 35, and their children, Homer, 13, Alice, 11, and Orange (Orrin), aged one.5
     In 1880 he was living at West, McLean County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as A Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 50 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Sarah, 45, and children, Alice, 21, Orange [Orrin], 11, and Edward, aged six. Also in the household were two male laborers.6

William Mason Sackett, son of Edward Curtis Sackett and Mary E Bradley, was born in Greene County, IllinoisG, on 21 April 1869.1,2,3 He died aged 50 at St John's Hospital, St Louis, MissouriG, on 25 July 1919 and was buried at Carrollton Cemetery, Greene County, IllinoisG.5,6 He married in Greene CountyG on 23 December 1891, Julia Fry, daughter of James Fry and Martha King.4 Julia was born on 7 June 1868.6 She died aged 77 in Greene CountyG on 16 October 1945 and was buried at Carrollton CemeteryG.6
     In 1870 William was living in Woodville, Greene County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Wm Sackett, aged one and born in Illinois.7
     In 1880 he was living in WoodvilleG in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded as William Sackett, a schoolboy, aged eleven.8
     In 1900 he was living in Carrollton, Greene County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 31. He rented his farm. Living with him were his wife Julia, 31, and their daughter Pauline, aged six. Also in the household were Martha Varble, 53, identified as mother-in-law but presumably Julia's stepmother, with two of her children, and Julia's unmarried brother Charles Fry, 27.9
     In 1910 he was living in Walkerville, Greene County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as William M Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 41. He owned his home and farm on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Julia, 41, and their daughter Pauline, aged 15.10
     In 1920 William's widow Julia was living in Bluffdale, Greene County, IllinoisG, and was recorded in the census as Julia Sackett, head of household, a widow aged 51. She owned her home on a mortgage. Living with her were her daughter Pauline, 25, Pauline's husband Frank Rhoads, 27, and Pauline and Frank's daughter Mary, aged two.11

    [The death certificate would appear to include some guesswork. William's date of birth, according to his gravestone was 21 Apr 1869, making him aged 50 at death. The birth date on the certificate, stating the same day and month as the date of death, may have been derived from a guess that he was 45. The stated wife's name Mary would have been a mistake for his mother Mary.]
